REGINALD Q. BARNES
Children’s author Reginald Q. Barnes first knew he wanted to be a writer about seven years ago. His preparation for his newly released picture book Little Big Girl Wakes Up Daddy took years, first convincing himself that it was a great story concept and then formulating a plan and mapping out a writing direction. For Reginald, the writing was the easy part! He is now hooked and has several additional books in the works in the motivational, science fiction, and children’s genres.
Reginald gets inspiration and ideas for his children’s books from real-life experiences, such as the relationship he has with his daughter. He hopes that his picture book gives families a relatable perspective while also providing a unique and interesting story experience and reiterates that the bond between a father and daughter is a special one.
Hailing from Chicago, Illinois, when Reginald isn’t writing heartwarming stories for children, he enjoys reading, playing and writing music, working out, and, of course, spending time with his daughter. He graduated magna cum laude from Purdue University Global with a B.S. in Finance, and is currently an MBA candidate at the University of Chicago Booth School of Business. He also has a career background as an I.T. professional and pro bono financial advisor. Little Big Girl Wakes Up Daddy is Reginald’s debut children’s book.
